Panatang Makabayan

Napanood ko sa TV na ginawang panata ng LBC ang Panatang Makabayan.  Kung isasapuso lang ng bawat Pilipino at tutuparin ang panatang ito uunlad ang anting bayan.

Panatang Makabayan

Iniibig ko ang Pilipinas
Ito ang aking lupang sinilangan
Ito ang tahanan ng aking lahi
Ako ay kanyang kinukupkop at tinutulungan
Upang maging malakas, maligaya at kapakipakinabang

Paalaala PANATANA = PANGAKO

12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country

This list took my attention.  This is taken from a book which is written by Alex Lacson
  1. Follow traffic rules. Follow the law.
  2. Whenever you buy or pay for anything, always ask for an official receipt.
  3. Don’t buy smuggled goods. Buy local. Buy Filipino. (Or, if you read the book, he suggests: 50-50).
  4. When you talk to others, especially foreigners speak positively about us and our country.
  5. Respect your traffic officer, policeman and soldier.
  6. Do not litter. Dispose your garbage properly. Segregate. Recycle. Conserve.
  7. Support your church.
  8. During elections, do your solemn duty.
  9. Pay your employees well.
  10. Pay your taxes.
  11. Adopt a scholar or a poor child.
  12. Be a good parent. Teach your kids to follow the law and love our country.

Lost in Cainta

Date: April 1, 2010 09:00PM  (Maundy Thursday)

Event: Annual Panata (means similar to pledge) of people walking to Antipolo Church

Route: Antipolo City to Pasig City

GPS Used:

  • Garmin GPS (OSM Philippines Map)
  • Google Maps for iPhone

Naligaw sa Cainta

Situation Encountered:

  1. At Tikling Road, we were stuck in this human traffic, BIG TIME! 😦
  2. Ortigas Ext. to Cainta – heavy traffic
  3. Tried Manila East Road to East Bank Road (Floodway)
  4. Wrong turn at Rizal Ave.  suppose to turn at Highway 2000, stupid GPS
  5. Lost at the subdivisions of Cainta, relying on GPS, hoping to reached Floodway
  6. Reached Floodway by asking questions to the local residence on each corner.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Do not pass to Tikling Road (Ortigas Ext to Antipolo) on a Maundy Thursday
  2. Do not try something new without looking at the map first
  3. Free GPS map is not reliable on remote subdivisions
  4. Ask and believe to the residences of the place, they know better than STUPID GPS
  5. If lost look for Public Jeepnies, they will bring you to the main road.
